Does Air Have Volume?
Yes air does have volume. To prove this I did an experiment with a plastic cup and a paper ball. In this experiment I crumpled the paper in to a ball and placed it tightly at the bottom of the cup. then, making sure the paper didn't fall out of the cup, turned the cup up side down and submerged it in water. when I pulled it out the paper at the bottom of the cup was dry. Now you may ask how does the show that air has volume? Well as most people know volume is how much space a thing takes up. Even though air is a gas it still can take up space. When we turned the cup up side down it trapped the air that was in the cup inside it. Therefore because of the pressure of the air in side the cup putting pressure against the water it did not allow the water to get in and get the paper wet. Proving that air can take up space of an object, which means it has volume. Although the experiment did not go perfectly the first time. The first couple times I made the paper ball to small and it would fall in the water when the cup was turned upside down, which effected the whole experiment and i had to start over again. finally I was able to make it the perfect size and the experiment when smoothly, allowing me to come up with is answer.
